Adoption Abroad

NOTE: The chart above lists only those adoption service providers that applied for and received accreditation or approval. The chart lists the providers by their U.S. states of headquarters based on information provided by the provider, therefore the information is only as accurate as each provider’s most recent reporting.

The location of a provider’s headquarter in not an indication of its licensure in a particular state. A provider may also be licensed in multiple states. To find out whether a specific provider is licensed in a particular state, refer to the state licensing body, and/or information made available by the provider.

Please also note that, if you seek to adopt from a country not party to the Hague Adoption Convention, you may choose to work with an adoption service provider that is not accredited or approved (and thus is not listed above), as long as the provider is licensed in a U.S. state. Please refer to www.childwelfare.gov/nfcad for the Child Welfare Information Gateway’s directory of adoption service providers.

Adoption service providers will be added to this list as they are accredited or approved. Providers will be removed if they are no longer operating, their accreditation or approval expires, or they are found not to be in substantial compliance with applicable accreditation/approval regulations. The names of adoption service providers who have been denied accreditation or approval are provided on the list of agencies denied accreditation.

If an agency or person was previously listed here but no longer appears and has not been denied accreditation or approval, please contact the Council on Accreditation or the Colorado Department of Human Services as appropriate to determine whether that agency or person has closed, elected to not apply for renewal of its accreditation or approval upon expiration, or has applied to renew its accreditation or approval but has not completed the process.
